Abducted by Queen Brown: A Gut-wrenching and Unforgettable Page Turner (book review)
If you just love the sound of my sexy, soothing, panty-drying voice, you’re in luck, because there’s a video version of this review below. I mean, this article is practically a word for word transcript …
Some books, you finish ’em, and by the time tomorrow rolls around, you’re literally struggling to remember what the hell you just read … because they were that damn forgettable. Others tell stories you just can’t get out of your head. Their impression is ever lasting. That’s certainly the case for me, when it comes to Abducted by author Queen Brown.
Apparently I had this book for quite a while. Like, years. At the time, I wasn’t in the mood for erotica, and the last hood book journey left a really foul taste in my mouth. Needless to say, I was deep into my Kindle library when I settled on this simple and unassuming digital book cover. So I said fuck it, and dove in head first ...
Abducted tells the story of Lacey, whose bad day gets a helluva lot worse when a would-be knight in shiny armor goes from saving her from bully torturers to kidnapping her off the streets. Turns out, the kidnapper is one half of a twisted married couple with sick and evolving motives. As we read on, we learn that the wife may be more sinister than hubby, which you’ll find, says a mouthful.
This couple, Hunter and Brooke, put Lacey through utter torment. I’m talking starvation, routine beatings, and of course, the lingering threat that her family will be killed if she doesn’t submit to their sick game of fuckery. We eventually learn that there’s a method to the madness. Our perverted pairing has something special in mind, and it’s revealed that Lacey is the chosen one for a reason.
Meanwhile, Lacey’s parents are going through their own personal hell. The police can’t seem to rustle up any leads, so Mom and Dad take matters into their own hands, coming so close, while remaining so far to cracking the case and finding their daughter.
Honestly, I don’t know what I expected from a book titled Abducted, but this definitely wasn’t it, Chief. That said, I admit that I came out pleasantly surprised. In spite of the grim nature and all the fucked up things that take place, the author captivated me right out of the gate. I’m rooting for Lacey to escape, sympathizing with her poor parents, and hoping these sick fucks in Hunter and Brooke get what’s coming to ’em. All while envisioning the hairy details as vividly as my mind can conjure. This is what a book is supposed to do, peoples!
Not sure if I’m gonna review the follow up … yes, there’s a sequel. I probably should, though. First I’m thinking, “ehh, it’s really just more of the same.” Then I remembered all the new twists, subplots and whatnot. For now, Abducted gets 5 out of 5 stars. Yep. Ole Cranky No Thanky just did the thing. Took off his crusty hat and tilted it for someone else’s book. I recommend you check this one out and do it, too. Peace!
